چکیده

Greywater reuse is an untapped available water resource for many rural areas in developing countries. Meanwhile, it one of the alternative ways to overcome scarcity parts world. This study was carried out investigate potential as a means problem and environmental pollution among restaurants hotel owners within Damaturu metropolis Yobe State Nigeria. A field survey conducted from 25 restaurants/hotels operating samples were collected reclamation using rice husk filter. The results indicated that majority respondents expressed about 99% mentioned they rely on buying multiple trucks their daily needs. further revealed 76% fully agreed with greywater reuse, while 12% disagreed, rest (10%) remain undecided. Physical parameters including; Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Suspended (TSS), pH, Turbidity well general coliforms determined before after treatment normal chemically modified husk. However, insignificant efficiency observed laboratory scale experiment which indicates requirement modification. modification filter acidic reagent confirmed increase pH electrical conductivity media, determination retention time always important system

On-site greywater treatment and reuse in multi-storey buildings.

The paper presents a study of a pilot plant treating light greywater for seven flats. The pilot plant combines biological treatment (RBC) with physicochemical treatment (sand filtration and disinfection). The pilot plant produced effluent of excellent quality, meeting the urban reuse quality regulations, and was very efficient in TSS turbidity and BOD removal: 82%, 98% and 96%, respectively. CO...

Reuse potential of laundry greywater for irrigation based on growth, water and nutrient use of tomato

Greywater is considered as a valuable resource with a high reuse potential for irrigation of household lawns and gardens. However, there are possibilities of surfactant and sodium accumulation in soil from reuse of greywater which may affect agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability adversely. We conducted a glasshouse experiment to examine variation in growth, water and nutrie...

Potential of Rainwater Harvesting and Greywater Reuse for Water Consumption Reduction and Wastewater Minimization

Northeastern Mexico is a semiarid region with water scarcity and a strong pressure on water sources caused by the rapid increase of population and industrialization. In this region, rainwater harvesting alone is not enough to meet water supply demands due to the irregular distribution of rainfall in time and space. Thus, in this study the reliability of integrating rainwater harvesting with gre...
